Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do I need an appointment?Yes. We work by appointment to make sure each vehicle gets the time and attention it needs. Contact us to schedule a time that works for you, or use our online booking application to request a specific time.
-
How long does an appointment take? Most tint jobs take 3 to 5 hours. PPF or vinyl work can take longer depending on the scope. We’ll let you know the timing when you book.
-
Do you work with, or have experience on Electric Vehicles?Yes. We regularly work on electric vehicles including Tesla, Rivian, Lucid, Polestar, and other EV brands. Our team is familiar with the unique glass layouts, trim materials, and electronics found in modern EVs. Whether you’re coming in for tint, paint protection film, or a vinyl wrap, you can trust that your vehicle is in experienced hands.
-
Can I wait at your shop during installation? You’re welcome to wait, but we recommend dropping off your vehicle. If you choose to stay, we have a small waiting area, but keep in mind that some services may take several hours.
-
Do you offer warranties?Yes. All of our films and wraps are backed by manufacturer warranties, and we stand behind our installation work.
-
What kind of window tint do you use? There are a few options to choose from when determining the right tint for the right job. All of the films we use are high-quality, color-stable films that offer excellent long-term clarity. If you are looking for UV and Heat rejection our Ceramic tint selection is top notch. We carry multiple shade options to match your needs.
-
Is window tint legal in California?Yes, but there are specific rules. In California, including Sonoma County, front side windows must allow at least 70% visible light transmission (VLT). This means you cannot apply tint darker than 30% on those windows. Non-reflective tint is allowed only on the top four inches of the windshield. The rest of the windshield must remain clear. There are no state-imposed limits on how dark you can tint the rear side windows or rear windshield. However, if those windows are tinted, the vehicle must have dual side mirrors to meet legal requirements.
-
Can I roll down my windows right after installation? No. Specific instructions will be provided after your installation is complete, but typically all windows should remain in the full upright position for at least 72 hours after installation. Rolling them down too soon can damage the film.
-
Does tint help keep my car cool?Absolutely. Our ceramic films block infrared heat and reduce interior temperature, especially during hot summer months.
-
Will tint fade or bubble over time? Not with the films we use. We choose high quality films known to resist fading, bubbling, and peeling. Proper installation and care help ensure long-term performance.
-
What is Ceramic Window FilmCeramic window tint is a premium film made with non-metallic, nano-ceramic particles that block heat, UV rays, and glare without interfering with signals like GPS or cell reception. It offers superior clarity, infrared heat rejection, and long-lasting performance — making it one of the best window tint options for vehicles, homes, and equipment in hot or sunny climates like Sonoma County.
-
Is it worth trying to install window tint yourself?DIY tint kits exist, but they often lead to poor results. Professional installation ensures a clean finish with no bubbling, creasing, or misalignment. We use precision-cut films and apply them in a controlled environment for long-term performance. If you want it done right the first time, professional installation is the way to go.
-
How long does window tint last?High-quality window tint can last anywhere from 8 to 15 years, depending on the film type, exposure to sunlight, and how well it’s maintained. We use premium, color-stable films that are designed to resist fading, bubbling, and peeling over time. Every install is backed by a manufacturer warranty.
-
Can window tint be replaced or upgraded later?Yes. We can safely remove existing window film and apply a new tint at any time. Whether you’re upgrading to a better heat-rejecting film, replacing damaged tint, or changing the shade, we’ll walk you through the options and handle the removal and reinstallation properly; just be sure to let us know you have existing tint that will need to be removed during your appointment.
-
How dark should I tint my windows?Choosing the right tint shade depends on your goals. Some drivers want maximum heat rejection and privacy, while others prefer a more subtle look that still reduces glare and UV exposure. Here’s a quick breakdown to help you decide: 5% Tint (Limo Tint): Offers maximum privacy and heat rejection. Best for rear windows or customers prioritizing a dark, sleek appearance. 15–20% Tint: A popular choice for privacy and performance without being too extreme. 30–35% Tint: Ideal for balanced performance and visibility. Offers heat and UV protection with a more factory-tinted appearance. 50%+ Tint: Light tint that cuts glare and blocks UV rays while maintaining high visibility—great for drivers who want comfort without a dark look. 75%+ Tint: Nearly clear film that provides UV protection and heat rejection without noticeably darkening the glass. If you’re unsure which shade is right for you, we’re happy to walk you through the options and show real-world examples at our shop.
-
What is paint protection film?PPF is a clear urethane film applied to painted surfaces that protects against rock chips, scratches, and road debris. It’s nearly invisible and helps preserve your vehicle’s finish.
-
Should you do a paint "cut" or treatment before applying PPF?Paint correction is optional, not required. The thickness of quality paint protection film often hides minor surface imperfections. However, if your paint has visible swirls, scratches, or uneven gloss, correcting it first can improve the final result. Keep in mind that when PPF is eventually removed, a new paint correction may be needed at that time.
-
Where is PPF usually applied?Popular areas include the front bumper, hood, side mirrors, door edges, and trunk ledges. We also offer full-vehicle wraps for high-end or newly painted cars.
-
How long does PPF last?Quality paint protection film can last 5 to 10 years depending on exposure and maintenance. It also comes with a warranty against yellowing, cracking, or peeling.
-
Can PPF be removed?Yes. PPF can be safely removed without damaging your paint when installed properly. This makes it a great option for leased vehicles or cars that may be sold in the future.
